[REVIEW] Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil

Today we’re going to review the Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil. It is always exciting when we find a big brand name that has a product with no coconut oil or coconut derivatives in it. And this is Honest Beauty’s coconut-free product.

Ingredients

Sometimes you look at a product’s ingredient list online and when you see the product in person, it disappointingly has more ingredients that were hidden online. Thankfully that is not the case with the Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil. They are living up to their name by being honest about what they put in this product.

According to their website, these are the ingredients of the facial oil are the following: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Perilla Ocymoides Seed Oil, Salvia Hispanica (Chia) Seed Oil, Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Seed Oil, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Leaf Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Canaga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) Flower Oil, Cinnamomum Zeylanicium Leaf Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Citral, Citronellol, Eugenol, Limonene, Linalool.

Packaging

You don’t realize how important packaging is until you buy some products with bad packaging. The good news is the packaging of the Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil is perfect.

The top is a stopper that is easily controllable. The bottle feels strong and is strong! It survives being dropped on the floor. Even after being used almost to the last drop, the labels haven’t budged one bit.

Our Thoughts on the Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil

Here are the positives. The oil’s texture is nice and thick. When it comes out of the dropper, it pools instead of running. After application, like all oils it does sit on top of the skin for a little while. Within a short amount of time, it does absorb well into the skin.

There is something that is a little disconcerting about this oil. There is a difference of how the oil appears on their website and what I received. In the online pictures of the product, it looks like a beautiful golden liquid. But in person, it looked green – and chunky. It appeared to have things floating around in the oil. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of the full bottle, but you can still see the chunks when I put the bottle up against the light. Has anyone else had this experience?

Honest Beauty Organic Facial Oil review

The biggest negative on the oil is the smell. It is hard to explain what it smells like, but it’s easy to say that the smell isn’t pleasant. Looking at the ingredients list, there are a lot of citrus scents added with the lemon peel, citral, citronellol, limonene, and linalool. Personally, none of those ingredients come across in the smell. It’s a mossy smell more than anything else. It does dissipate shortly after application.

Overall this facial oil has been a part of my nighttime routine because I wanted to give it a shot despite its looks. I will say it does a good job of holding in moisture all night long. I bet a brand new bottle of the product is amazing. However, I will not be repurchasing it. It seems Honest Beauty does not care about quality control if they are selling oils that they know don’t look or smell right. It shouldn’t be a game of chance when you are purchasing products you put on your face.

Where did you get this first of all??? You’re making it sound like you didn’t get this fresh or new….. I would have called the company to see if this was Normal, I’ve done it before with a Product that had little white specks floating in it. I sent them the picture and they sent me a new one. Who knows if this Product was supposed to be like that. YUK.
