A Comprehensive List of Hair Products without Coconut Derivatives
Some people’s hair reacts poorly when coconut oil is applied. Thus you’ll find many articles about coconut oil free hair products on the internet. Upon closer inspection, you will probably find that all of the products recommended contain coconut derivatives. For those of us with a coconut allergy, this is quite disappointing. That’s why we have made this list of hair products that don’t contain coconut oil nor coconut derivatives.
In an effort to avoid negative reactions for our readers, we have also tried to avoid ingredients that may be too closely related to coconut such as palm, serenoa serrulata, babassu, and carnauba.
If you have any favorite coconut-free hair products, please share them in the comments! And while you’re here, check out our lists of other coconut-free products: skin care, personal care, and makeup.
Shampoos without Coconut Derivatives
It is hard to find coconut-free shampoos, but we have found a nice selection! To see some ingredients lists, check out our article 9 Coconut-free Shampoos (that are really coconut-free)
Editor’s note: We have not featured Clean Kids Naturally nor Morrocco Method because they contain palm.

Thank you so much for all of the tips and resources. I recently discovered coconut is triggering my eczema. I had been rubbing natural based products all over my skin and all of them had coconut in them! I am super appreciative of your site, thank you!
Terri Sidell
Thank you for making such a comprehensive post about No coconut -derivatives products!

It’s nice to know I am not the only one who needs these coconut-free products 🙂

Thank you for improving my overall quality of life, would it be alright for me to inquire about a laundry detergent/deodorant/dish soap/perfume/makeup that doesn’t have any derivatives of coconut/ palm/ seaweed/ beets/ black mold/ fungi/ etc.?
E. Mila
It makes me very happy that you find these lists helpful! I am not super educated in the derivatives of all those ingredients, however you may find the laundry detergent/deodorant/dish soap on our list here: https://sensitiveskinoasis.com/all-coconut-free-personal-care-products/
And as far as makeup goes, we have a separate post here: https://sensitiveskinoasis.com/a-comprehensive-list-of-cosmetics-without-coconut/
This is the only women’s fragrance I’ve seen https://naturallyfreeinc.com/collections/fragrance/products/berry-fruity-hers-fragrance?ref=oasis, and for men’s they have this https://naturallyfreeinc.com/collections/fragrance/products/citrus-wood-his-fragrance?ref=oasis

Hello!
Thanks for providing this website- we have used it many times over the years as our daughter has a cocnut allergy.
Just wanted to share- we are starting a new coconut free personal care line. We will be lauching our first products soon, but it will include shampoo, conditioner, soap, bodywash, deodorant, lotion, sunscreen, & more! They will all be COMPLETELY cocnut free, including NO derivatives. We are seeking to be as natural & clean as possible, and hope to others who are in the same struggle!
E. Mila
That’s exciting! Can’t wait to check out your products
Sarah Rush
Thank you so much for this list! Do you happen to know if their henna hair color products are coconut and coconut derivative free?
E. Mila
You’ll probably be safest if you stick to the pure henna powders. These could be some options: Godrej Nupur Henna Natural Goodness or The Henna Guys Store 100% Pure Henna Powder
Gail Lancaster
I am so glad to discover this site for coconut-free products because I’m allergic. I excitedly ordered from Touch Body Works the Jamaican Black Strengthening Shampoo and Conditioner for which a link is listed on this site. Their site lists the ingredients which didn’t include coconut. However, after waiting 3 weeks for the shampoo to arrive, the ingredients listed DO contain coconut oil. Very disapointing that they can’t make the effort to update their website to match what the bottle has in it. So, buyers beware!
E. Mila
Oh nooooo! Thank you for the warning. I’ll remove it from the recommendations 🙁
